What’s On Tap At The Sleeping Giant?

No, really. What’s on tap? The Sleeping Giant Tap House would suggest a place where patrons can drink beer straight from the source. Grista is not just some bartender. In her second career after her decades as a Wilddwarf Brigade battle rager of Citadel Adbar, Grista settled in Phandalin to become a brewer.

So what has she got in them kegs behind the bar? Let’s do this!

Since I enjoy rewarding players for their choices at character creation, the names of each variety of beer are scrawled on their kegs in Dwarvish runes. Only characters who chose Dwarvish as a language can read them.

ᚹᛁᛚᛚ-ᚩ-ᛏᚻᛖ-ᚹᛁᛣᛣ (Will-o’-the-Wizz): a strong, full-bodied beer made from barley, which causes swampy, highly flammable flatulence in the imbiber.

ᛒᚱᚩᛗᛗᛋᛒᚩᚳᛱ (Brommsbock): a dark, strong, malty beer named for the late King Bromm of Citadel Adbar. Whenever setting out a tankard of Brommsbock, Grista reverently utters “The Kings is dead. Long live the King” in Dwarvish.

ᚳᚩᚾᚥᛒᛖᚱᚱᚥ᛫ᛋᛏᚩᚢᛏ (Conyberry Stout): an utterly revolting but potent stout brewed from a recipe once believed lost to time, until Grista discovered it in the ruins of Wandering Woodsman’s Tavern in Conyberry.

ᚷᚢᛏᛒᚢᛋᛏᛖᚱ (Gutbuster): a caustic rotgot once consumed by Grista’s Wildwarf brigade prior to battles.
